I am looking for 600+ acres of land to lease in a good area within 1.5 hours drive from Jackson. I am looking to establish a trophy hunting club on this property, 130"+, so a long term lease of at least 5 years is a must. Willing to pay 20+ dollars/acre for the right location. Email jsthntn@yahoo.com.

If you get your club started let me know. I'd be interested in joining if you ended up with it in either Leake, Attala, Rankin, or Scott Counties. PM me as I have a lead on a 640 acre tract in Attala County.

Not being a smart eleck but 20x600 is $12,000. Man I can find me 3 maybe even 4 places to go where I got a chance at deer a lot bigger than 130". Good luck with your search and with that kind of money, I'd start looking at the 16th section lands coming up.

130+ was just a starting place to let a potential landowner know that I am very interested in managing the property. If I am fortunate enough to find a property in the right location it will be managed on age rather than score. You have to pay to play these days and I am very aware of that. I am a wildlife biologist and have several friends that are biologist and forester's. We are wanting a property that we can manage by implementing BMP's that will benefit us and the landowner at the same time, so that rules out 16th section land.
