I've been wanting a gun just to turkey hunt with and after two years of searching, I finally found the one I wanted and for the price I wanted to pay.

Meet "burner". 870 special purpose with 23" barrell in realtree

Well I shot 4 chokes and 5 different turkey loads out of her yesterday and let me tell you, this thing kicks like a mule. It was painful.

My choices for chokes were jellyhead 665, Indian creek 670, pure gold 660, and the factory choke that came with the gun.

Factory choke won with all loads from a pellet count standpoint at 40 yds.

All these were shot at 30 with the factory choke. Tell me what y'all think.

Its hard to be an 870! Looks very good, you should have no problem at all blowing a birds head off.

Man you better not bobble that bead! Those are some very impressive patterns! I would've figured those Nitro 5's would out penetrate the Win 6's

Nice Gun Hunter! I've been trying to talk my dad into a new turkey gun, but he's hard-headed.

That thing is slick. How do you like the pistol-grip?

I would go with those Extended Range #6's. Those other patterns are quite impressive, especially the #4's. But they are too tight for my taste.

+1 on the too tight of a pattern there. Although it will take a head off. Whats the range on those shots? Are they a little more open at say 50yrds but tight enough to get the job done?

yeah they are tight out to 40. I haven't shot it past that because I refuse to shoot a turkey farther than that.
