I'm looking to purchase a new turkey shotgun.. What are some of your favorites, as far as value and dependability?

Cant go wrong with a rem 870.... hunted with one for years and killed a pile, but my original SBE Benelli is a BAMF.... just put some optics on a new to me 870 and polished the barrel... if it comes close to the Benelli it will become my dedicated turkey gun

Just about can't go wrong with the 870. I lean real heavily toward my Winchester 1300 for a close second.

Mossberg 835 is a great gun, but kicks like a mule.

I got a Browning Gold and a couple of 870's. The 870 is alot of bang for your buck. They take a licking and keep on ticking. They also shoot every time you pull the trigger. Can't go wrong with an old faithful 870.

I have 2 870 rem express 3in mags, 1 with the original rem extra full turkey choke which is my primary gun, and 1 with the rhino choke and they both shoot great patterns. As we have all said, cant go wrong with this gun.

870
Ive heard a lot of people who have had good luck with mossburgs. Thru trading I've had 2, 835's and 2, 500's. Out of the 4 only one shot straight and it was an older 835. Just my opinion, I don't know why anyone would buy a Mossburg when they can buy an 870 for around the same money. Oh yeah those 835s kick pretty hard if you're gonna shoot it much.

I had a 870 and i could not hit side of a barn with it, absoutely no need in taking it to a dove field. another friend here bought new one and he had same problem, i sold mine and bought a Browning Gold Hunter 3" and it will destroy one!!! only downfall it's Heavy!! have a 3" Mossberg 500 youth model 20 guage, thinkiing about trying it this year some, it is very light.

I've killed a lot of turkey's with my trusty browning BPS. I've never had a 'dedicated turkey gun' though. I bought a benelli M2 last year and it did really well on turkeys last season
