Sj recommended I ask you smart fellows..... I was about to list my boat on craigslist here on the coast and was curious of a good asking price. Have a 7 month old and another on the way and don't use it near as much as I would like to. Figured I'd sell it now and buy another as they get a little older. It's a 1995 Cape Horn 19 with a 2004 Yamaha 200 hpdi. The boat Has a t top and boat motor and single axle trailer are all in very good shape. Motor has 299 hours as of yesterday. Thanks for any and all advice.

Could you post a few photos first? My partner has a Cape Horn, mighty strong hull! But I would prefer to see it before recommending anything.
Sure will. Will snap some and post them in the morning
Great deal! I'll talk to my buddy as a baseline on what he paid. Then we can bluebook it as well.
I like boats.........what can I say? :)
299 hours!!!!! That boat is just hit it's stride. You'll have no problem selling it. Those Cape Horns are tough boats.
another thing that really helps is if you have documentation of maintenance since you have owned it.

Good Luck! It's a good time of year to sell a boat.
I am on the market for a boat. I would love to see the pics
When I look for boat pricing it's very subjective. Always ask more than you are willing to take. My biggest tip, search online for similar boats/1995 Cape Horn 19 ft. to develop a price range/market for your boat. You may only have a few hits, but at least you have a starting point. Plus most have pics so you can compare.

totally agree and great tip. Chances of finding a bunch of other mid 90's 19ft cape horns in your's condition might be rare but similar brands (big, stout center consoles from 19-21 ft) shouldn't be too hard. Prolines, Hydrasports, Mako, Wellcraft, Key West...
Photos? Photos?
Thanks for all the info and tips. Will post pictures tomorrow. I had an unexpected business trip to south florida and will Be home tomorrow afternoon and will post pics here before I put it on craigslist over the weekend.
How in gods name do you post pictures? I have on other forums but can't here
Use photobucket to upload it then there is a thing it does for image posting
delta,

I spoke with my buddy who has the exact same boat (the same as I was on just yesterday). After speaking with him, I then went to the NADA site and blue-booked it as close as I could from what I could get off of the photos.

It "Average Retail" listed as $17,295.
The "Low Retail Price" was listed at $15,325.

NADA has a tendency to slightly overvalue vessels (which is good if you need to make an insurance claim). So I would recommend asking the "Low retail" and negotiate from there. Keep in mind, this is "Retail" and you are making a private sale, which typically goes a little lower (retail lots have to make a profit as well).

This is only mine and my buddy's opinion and recommendation. You do what you think is in your best interests.

Thanks shooter....... I got a good deal on it when I got it and have decided to price it for what I have in it. $12,500. I realize it is a little cheap for the good condition it's in. Hopefully it will make someone happy and they can use it more than me. It's a great boat that I will miss and probably regret selling but it does me little good just to look at. When my kids get older and we can enjoy a boat as a family I will definitely get another Cape Horn. Love these boats. Solid as a rock! Thanks for all the help from you and the others who pm'ed me pricing ideas. - joseph
