Wondering if the bigger fish we are seeing may be schools of bulls running the shallows along the beach?

That's what I was thinking today because you could see a big area of ripples coming before they started hitting bait, and it looked like it was redfish right under the surface

How do you fish those jighead type baits? Do you just slow reel or let them go to bottom? Never done any in shore fishing

Hey GK, you can fish jig heads many different ways. The trick is finding what works. Sometimes I bounce it off bottom as I reel in slowly, other times I use a steady retrieve. It also depends on what I have hooked up. Matrix, Vortex, grubs, flukes, gulp. To get a good understanding of how each bait works, find some clear water and hook up each type and watch the action. Where I was fishing Saturday I saw two schools pushing wakes, one of them was slot reds, I caught one that was in a school blowing up on glass minnows. I never was able to intercept the other school. I think the scattered surface blow ups, at least in the Biloxi area are lady fish that are spread out rather than schooled up. I think there is so much bait that it has spread the fish out somewhat.
