I haven't but a buddy of mine has been going every morning and said it was on fire.

That's what I have heard as well.
I haven't been but those reports wouldn't surprise me. It seems like last year it kept heating up into August, and then it was ridiculously good. I've only fished there twice with a buddy, and I caught some fish on a jig. Everyone around us was just pulling in 2-4 pound trout like it was nothing on croakers though... so we headed in, got croakers, came back, and never got another bite [blink]

LOL!!!!!!!! Bro, that is my luck incarnate!
Chief, that was the same day I said, "Nah, I don't need the net" and proceeded to lose the keeper I had, trying to flip it in the boat.

Update: A buddy went today and didn't do too hot out there. Did you ever go, Bub?
I've been a few times in the last couple of weeks. I didn't slay them, but was able to put decent numbers in the box. The main key is E-A-R-L-Y with croaker.

And no, I do NOT wade there. A lot of people do, but I've seen too many larger sharks out there this year.
This is becoming kinda cliche sounding but judging by the amount of boats and hooks in the water at flatboat and around isle au pitre someone is bound to catch a fish. But when they are there they are thick. Caught 8 there sat morning until a guy literally trolled under where we were casting and then dropped his anchor in front of us. I politely moved out of his way, since he owned the spot and went somewhere else to finish off the box of fish. Just saying , if you go pray up first. 😁
Wow

You know, that's exactly why I like making the long runs. Don't give me wrong, I love Cat or Isle au Pitre but I like getting away from the intense pressure. Nothing better than being way out and catching a bunch of fish and no one is around you.
Yeah ive had someone so close to me out there before i could have spit in their boat. Would have bothered me but i was catching fish and they werent
Yes we went and didn't do much wading so we waited till dark and fished with croakers and caught out limit nice trout. We had that full moon over us and they hit good

Didn't do much wading so we waited till dark and started fishing croakers under that big full moon and it was good caught our limit and caught some nice ones. It seems they r not hitting plastic good anywhere right now
Fisher Man it was an aluminum flat boat, maybe 16 ft. I'm cool with it though, I'm pretty easy going. It was a Father and son so that kinda helps, but I also had my boys with me. There's a few places I'm teaching my boys that a little patience with other people will go a long ways. Those two places are the boat launch at about 5:30 am and Flatboat and Isle au Pitre when the croaker bite us happening. Lol
