Thinking about driving down and give it a go tomorrow. It will be a quick trip and trying to figure out where to start. I plan on burning some fuel midday to find a tripletail [confused] Thanks in advance

Its been over a week since i been. Last i heard was 2 days ago it was muddy to the west and crystal clear to the east. Ill be heading out there tomorrow evenin if the weather cooperates.
Thanks. We will be in a light blue Sea Hunt Ultra.
That's going to be the trick, finding the (relatively) clean water. A lot of dirty water coming down the various rivers.

Good Luck! Shoot us a report, good or bad.
Not much to report. Caught a few shorts and a gazillion ladyfish and catfish. Highlight of the trip was I found 2 cobia north of the island on the way out. They wouldn't eat any jigs I had so continued south. Few hours later I couldn't stand it and had a Jumbo shrimp in the live well from getting bait. I got back to the spot and they were still there. Tossed the shrimp with a popping cork and he inhaled it. Fish on for a short time. I believe what happed was the other cobia grabbed my cork and broke off. Newbie to all this and lesson learned. I should've free lined the jumbo I guess. (the cork I had on had the wire and beads on it. The wire was bent like a paper clip) Great day none the less!

Sounds like fun! I got into a school of nothing but bull reds this past fall. I would be bringing one in and she would have a bull on each side of her trying to get the bait and the cork. That Boat Monkey cork was DESTROYED!
Just got back in from horn. Water has been crystal clear the past 2 afternoons. Not much on fish yesterday evenin. Just a few short specks and rat reds. Had 10 keepers this afternoon all good solid fish with a few 20+ inchers. Lost a few good ones and threw back about 30 shorts. I cant wait till i can line it up again to where i can be there for the best part of the tide
Only cobia I have ever caught was from the bottom of the bucket of cut bait mix of squid and cigar minnows but hey I caught a cobia so I was pretty happy.
