Replacement chains are easy and affordable. Go to your nearest Tractor Supply (or equivalent) and buy two coils of roller chain. I think 2040 is the size that matches the current chain but don't quote me on that. While you are there, pick up a length of plastic tubing just large enough to squeeze over the chain snugly. Cut the chain to the required length and tie a wire to the chain. Pass it through the tubing and use that to pull the roller chain up through the tubing. Use a hot drill bit to melt holes in the tubing ends for the pins to push through. Easy and affordable.
