In east monroe we have been weighing deer for 35 years. 175# to 210 for a 3.5 plus deer. The weights tend to drop in Jan. 235# is the biggest I have seen. Most 4.5 and older deer killed in dec. will be 190# plus.

We have had the property since 2002. Every deer taken, except for the first year, from the oh,oh I thought it was bigger to mature bucks are weighed. The does usually run from 110 to 135 lbs while the bucks weigh in from 160 to 185 lbs. The largest was 200+ "guestimating" due to not have a scale our first year.

The MDWF&P actually has very good data on weights by age, sex, and soil region available through their DMAP data. this data comes from WMA's, and private lands. In the batture (inside the levees)and delta, yearling bucks average around 130, two year olds 165, 3 year olds 185, and 4.5+ average 200. The Upper Thick Loess soil region (Madison and Yazoo areas) are only a pound or two different. These numbers decrease as soil quality/nutrition decreases moving East and South. The lowest weight being in the coastal flatwoods region.

The MDWF&P would have a lot more, and a lot more reliable info if there was a tagging/data system in place by law....But then they wouldn't be able to skew the statistics as they like to do, and it would damage the agenda they're trying to push down everybody's throat.
