Best load for 7mm-08?

Just bought a 7mm-08. Never had one so what factory load do you like for deer. Mostly thick where I hunt so I need track droppers or good blood trailers. Thanks.

Barnes vortex barnes 120 TTSX.
Yep, and shoot them through the shoulders
We had great success with American Whitetail (By Hornady) 139 grain. Very accurate and deadly. My daughter killed 5 with them last year. If they ran there was blood everywhere and didn't go far. Much better round that Remington Reduced Recoil Corlocks.

I bought a box at Bass Pro last night for $23.
140gr Winchester Ballistic tip
140gr core-lokt
120gr Remington HP (if you can find them)

I have used all of these over the years with great success.[smile]
definitely try the hornady american whitetail. got some for my 308. good ammo. very accurate too
Rem 120 HP

another vote for the Rem 120 HP. Do the best by far of all I have tried.

They are my favorite but I can never find them. I was going to reload them but the bullets are "seasonal runs" and are gone pretty quick.[angry]
Great choice in the 7mm-08.
I use Remington 140 gr CoreLokts. Not glamorous, but if I do my job they'll do theirs.
I've heard good things about the Remington 120 gr HP. But you say it's pretty thick where you hunt, and in cover the more bullet mass the better.

chad winkler from Brandon MS makes the best hand load available for this rifle. about 30$ a box. It will flat blow a shoulder off a deer. Never seen anything like it.
have someone order them for you

One of the guys in our hunting club has a small bow & gun shop and he always orders them and other stuff for me.
Federal makes a 120 grain load in their Fusion line that I am gonna try this year. They have been getting good reviews. I ordered them from Midway USA.
also i noticed academy has a ton of boxes of winchester powermax bonded. i picked up some for my 270 and 308. mostly 5 star reviews from places i check
I've been shooting and hand loading for the 7mm-08 for about 25 years. The best I've found is 42 gr. of RL 19 under a 140 gr Sierra. The Sierra bullet is an awesome bullet for a combination of accuracy and effectiveness on deer.
I have shot the federal Fusion 120 and 140 with good results. Currently shooting the 120 Fusions. Also the Remington 120 HP but as already stated can be hard to find. If you do find might want to buy a few boxes. Looks like Midway USA has some in stock right now for those looking for some.
