The biggest was only 10.8 lbs...but they sure will eat good!!
Almost 11lbs is nothing to sneer at Bro. Fine catch you have. Congrats!
Great fish, carnivore. Do you cast to every crab pot and channel marker you come to? I'm determined to catch one of these this summer

some structures/area's hold them better than others..some spots we have a history with and KNOW one will be there..so we stop and fish it. other places if we don't see one we keep going..just depends. Been targeting them since mid 80's so there is a pattern/ method to our madness. If i tell too much cuz will burn my house.
Thanks, carnivore. I know some people that fish everything they come to and others who only stop if there's a fish, so I was just curious. I normally don't stop if I don't see one, unless I see some structure that looks "fishy"

If you take a ride today between now and 4..bring some live shrimp and keep your eyes peeled and cover some ground..you might just catch your first one.[smile] ideal conditions..
keep moving and check every floating thing you see,i seem to catch my bigger ones about a mile south, south west of the katrina reef even though theres not much floating there you always check to see if you find something floating around that area there may be a good one,
