This is a picture of what's left of a bull red, this is taken on the pearl river, you can see the train bridge in the back ground! Curious to the size of shark it would take to get half of that red?!?

Wow. Must have been a big shark in the Pearl. Hate losing a catch like that
Dang. I would bet at least 5-6 feet to have a mouth big enough to take a bite that far up the fish.
I would say a 6' bull
I was going to guess up to 8'.
I have not been in the water now for about 2 months work/personal reasons, but last year mid July I personally had a 4' / 5' wide body I assumed a bull come up to me in thigh deep water. I also remember a post last week where Dalozi reported a shark feeding frenzy in the Waveland area. So it's that time of the year from now till October the predators, sharks, jacks and Spanish will be near shore. I imagine if you could fly an ultralight over the barrier islands on a good calm day you might be surprised at the fins up shadows you might see.
WOW!!!!!! I will say this...I used to fish the pearl alot and I still do from time to time and that river is loaded with some sharks. I know of an area close to the bridge that stays loaded with sharks. My biggest I have ever caught is about 5' in the pearl, but I know there are some monsters lingering around. Take a look a that pic once again...PROOF is in the pudding....LOL
Yea we have caught them up to 5' last year we watched an estimated 7+ Bull chase a bat ray across the top of the water, I rigged a sting ray under a cork hoping to get him but no luck!
I was wade fishing at horn, just messing around really because I took my sister and her family to enjoy the island, and mullet kept coming out of the water right at the beach. I finally saw what was chasing them, a four foot shark that was a lot closer to land than I was. I guess he was chasing them into the shore and scooping them up. I skipped out of the water pretty fast after that.
6'-8' Bull I would guess.

Bulls have been recorded in excess of 30 miles up river systems. I have caught them (smaller) on the Trinity River in Liberty, TX.

They will definitely come all the way up there, seen exactly what you're talking about. They basically use the shore line to trap the fish. Closest encounter with a shark was just like that. He was chasing mullet, mullet was running. I had backed up to get away from them feeding and was in maybe shin deep water. Mullet saw me and decided to turn around. Nice view of a shark eating mullet. Never considered me at all but you can see where a mistake would happen in the feeding mode.

I believe on River Monsters he has caught them up to 100 miles up river or least had reports of them that far. A bull shark is definitely an eating machine designed to survive

I watched several beach themselves and flip-flop back into the water last summer while wade fishing west ship. After about the 3 one, I yelled at 22Skeeter to come pick me up in the boat!
Bulls have been caught over 1000 miles up the mississippi river.
