Anyone have any good ideas on where I can find pics to take to tattoo shop for a deer tattoo? What I want is a buck standing tall over a doe bedded down with a fawn curled up next to her. My whole family enjoys hunting so I wanted my first tattoo to be a deer tattoo and I wanted it to represent my role as husband, father & protector of my family. I want it to be realistic looking (not cartoon or goofy) so I am also looking for advice on where to get it done (on the coast). Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

It's your skin so whatever floats your boat is fine by me. You do realize a buck deer is a horrible comparison for a father. Run around breed everything you can couple months a year and spend the rest hanging out with the guys. Sending out the girls to see if they get shot before you show your face is not being much of a protector.

Wasn't really looking for anyone's approval of my choice of what I wanted my tattoo to be. i was merely looking for advice on where i could find some examples of deer tattoos to take to the shop with me to show them what i was looking for. I was also wanting some input on quality tattoo shops on the coast. if i am going to get something permanent then I want to make sure it is done right. Just thought there might be some people on here who have gotten tattoos and might have some useful input.

This looks pretty close!

I did a google image search, saw some terrible "lifelike" tats of deer. Looks to be a tough subject to get right.

A good tattoo artist should be able to draw up what you want. It is not like the idea is too hard to grasp. There are a few on this search that though not the correct pose are nice pics of a Buck, Doe, & Fawn group. https://www.google.com/search?q=dee...pw.r_qf.&fp=daa841aefc732219&biw=1280&bih=905

Liked these two: http://www.roughridge.com/sites/default/files/deer-buck-doe-fawn.jpg

Also you asked about shops: I second Jack and Dianne's. I have never had any work done there (or on the coast honestly), but I have seen plenty wouldn't hesitate to. Also Dragon's Den in Ocean Springs also does quality work from what I have seen.

In 1981 my father killed a muley that had a 36'' inside spread and scored 214. This deer looks very similar to the Bone Collector logo, except for split G-2's and small kickers on the both G-3's. I have decided that when he passes, I will get this tat in his honor. You may want to consider inking a big deer you have killed or one your father or even grandfather killed way back when...jmo.

Jack and Diane's does good work but is over priced in my opinion. My last one was done at king pin in ocean springs. They shut that shop down now i believe and jus have one in diberville. But the guy that did mine did an awesome job for a great price. But he doesnt work there any more, When im ready for another one i will go find him. I heard he is at a different shop in ocean springs. Just dont know witch one

There are alot of great artist out there but what I like to hear if you are getting something drown up is that they want do it unless they like it themselves. The bottom line is, thats their way of advertising. Good luck with your search on the perfect one. I would say look at alot before locking in on one.

Jack and Diane's in Gulfport.
I'll 2nd Jack & Diane's. I haven't had any done there but my wife and several friends have. They do quality work.
You can take any type of picture to the tat shop of your choice and if they're any good at all they can draw up whatever you want.
Tattoo Zone on Hwy. 98 in Mobile also has some great artist.

Go on line and look at deer tattoos. There are some nice looking ones there. One I thought might look good for what you want. The doe and fawn would have to be added. I think you can get some good ideas there though. Post it when you get it done if you can. I would really like to see it. Good luch with it.
