Make your own crab snare. I recommend 30# to 50# Mono or Fluoro for Blue Crab and up to 100# for indungenous crab.

I guess that would work, I just don't know lol
Interesting for sure
Crab draggers are another name for them you fish with on a pole. They work well from what I can tell, might try hand lining one at the piers if I get the chance to go fishing anytime soon. Thx for the share looks easy to build.
I think i'll try that.I usually invest about 30-45 minutes on each of the little flimsy basket type nets you get from wal-mart for about three dollars each, by the time you replace the kite string that comes on it and put some heavier wire around the top to stiffen it up and add a little weight you prolly have 6 or 7 bucks in each trap then take into account that your going to lose one every few trips and it gets expensive.
Interesting for sure. Oh oh, now you done it. Now I'm trying to figure out how to modify the crab snare. I wish Duck Dynasty would hurry up and come on.....
Like i said....im going to try this....but i sure wish there was a video on how to get the crab out of the snare, im thinking that just wont be no fun at all.

Make a video, it will be fun for the rest of us, at least [rofl]
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm..........
Rubber band the claws and hold it with some long bbq tongs.
you could probably take a dehooker or something similar. hold the whole thing over a bucket or cooler by the pull string then grab the basket with the dehooker and release the pull string. that should let them slip out and into the bucket. in theory anyways
Only a yankee would come up with something that complicated to catch a crab when you can do the same thing with a chicken neck tied on a string.
Making one of these rigs tonight will post some pictures, I am thinking of using trot line for it that should be strong enough to pull in some big crabs right?

This guy posts on another forum that I participate on in Florida. Just wait until y'all see his other videos, especially the ones on how to put your boat on the trailer. Priceless!
Didn't get a chance to work on it, but I did get the yard mowed, I figured it was going to rain this evening again. Now I can hit the piers this weekend.

What the heck is an "indungenous" crab? Do you mean dungeness crab? Not too many of those around the gulf coast [laugh]. Only find those in the pacific North West.

This one? Not really sure what to say about that one, at least it is fairly short.
Here's his "Best Ever Crappie Fishing" video. I'd hate to see a bad day. LOL
