No kidding! well, Dad and I got some stuff from the garden and placed it a few feet from the hole. we were able to take care of 3 of them. Glad you got them. I thought about your post when I saw skunk trap on sale for $49 in the Northern Tool Clearance catalog. It is enclosed plastic rather than a wire cage and uses a infrared sensor to trigger the trap to close.
