HHA sight

I have always shot fixed pins. My current sight is the G5 with 3 fixed pins and one floater pin on a dial.

I have read the recent post about HHA and everyone seems to love theirs. I am having trouble switching because it just concerns me tht I'm gonna get caught up having To range/adjust site/screw up, when it's "go-time".

It's pretty easy to be able to pick a 20 or 30 fixed pin and go. However, with the Chill R(newer, faster bow for me), those pins are really close. I would really like some input from those who have made the switch and was it a hard switch?

Thanks, Brent

I went from pins to a single pin hha couple years back, I had the same exact concerns as you as far as trying to adjust it in the heat of the moment. But with the newer faster bows it's not as bad as ya think. I usually leave mine set on 30 and aim a tad low of high depending on yardage. Only time I will move my pin is if he's past 40 or I have time to range him and put it dead on. But I do practice that in the yard, as far as shooting 20 yards with it set on 30 and the same at 40 yards.
I was the original poster on that HHA thread lately. My son got a Bowtech RPM 360 and went with the HHA and is shooting it like a rifle out to 60. I took over his HeliM with an apex gear 4 pin sight that is really bright, but when I try to shoot with him beyond 30 I cant see the target because the pins are so close together. If I could afford another HHA my bow would have one tomorrow!
Awesome info. Thanks. Did you guys go with the 1 5/8 or 2" housing? And the 3 or 5' of fiber? I'm thinking I will do the 1 5/8, 0.10 pins, and 3 or 5' of fiber.

I have the same issue at 40. It's very difficult to see the target because 3 pins are in the way.
I was shooting a hha. I always shot it while set on 25 yards. If you practice on bags with it set on 25 yards at various distances it will come natural as where to hold it without moving it
Just switched to a hha from a trophy ridge react 5 and love the single pin. Mine is 19 pin 1 5/8 on a chill r. I set my 30 and can shoot 20 or 40 just aiming little high or a little low. I have got 20,30,40 and 50 dead on working on 60 next week. I am making my own yardage from sight tapes a friend had.
I shot for at least two hours straight yesterday and finally was satisfied with sighting in the HHA I just bought. I followed the instructions and the math said to use tape 55. After sticking it on I checked it at 20,30, and 40 and all were dead on. I backed up to 50 and slung an arrow completely over the target. I dialed it back to 45 and hit center. What's the deal with my 50 not being 50? Is this common? I did the 20/40 sight in versus 20/60 if that matters. I'm thinking it must have something to do with it.
I always did 20 and 60 and they turned out fine. Not saying this is it but your anchor point is going to change with the movement of the sight.
Thanks I guess I'm going to actually find my 60 on the current tape. If 45 is 50 maybe 55 is 60. Maybe I needed another tape or it could be the anchor point like you said
If you go with the HHA, get the smallest pin (.10) and the rheostat. I started with the .19 pin and no rheostat and it was way too bright. Switched out to the .10 with rheostat and it was perfect. I do the same as Jacob.....keep in on 30 and only make an adjustment if shot is 40 and beyond.
With sighting in the sight, if you do the 20-40 method you better be deadnuts. The 20-60 gives you a little room for error. I did mine 20-60 and have mine tuned out all the way to 80 with the tape. Also, not saying you don't, but when you sight in at 20 make sure you are shooting at a small targer area. It made a difference with mine. I went from shooting at a grapefruit size spot at 20 to a golfball size spot and you'd be suprised how much it will change.

Thanks I'll try a small spot this weekend
Thanks for input from all. I purchased the .10 rheostat sight in 1 5/8" and ABSOLUTELY love it. It's amazing how well that sucker is made and how smoothe it is. Sighted it in with the 20/60 method and I really love it.

The single pin in my sight picture is just awesome...
Anyone using a magnifying lens with this sight. If so where did you get it and does it really help at longer distances.

I do on tournament rigs no HHA but a sure loc. It does help but magnifies your movement. As far as hunting the sun is gonna mess with you big time.
Ok I'm wanting to switch to the hha also. What is the exact model # you got Brent?

+1
I switched to the HHA sight and I love it. I have never shot so accurate in my life. Like others have said I practice a lot with it at 30 and aim high or low. If I have time to set it dead on at any range the animal is in trouble. I highly recommend the single pin sight
