I wish I could shoot a compound bow but I can't due to having muscular dystrophy so I shoot a crossbow. Most folks seem to think just because you have a crossbow the deer is automatically dead but thats far from the truth. I got proof in the form of a 150-160 class 10pt still walking around that ducked my arrow at 34 yards this past october after letting him walk two other afternoons cause I did't want to take a 50 yard shot at a buck of a lifetime. The arrow was right on its mark but I didn't anticipate him ducking so hard his belly would hit the ground.

The crossbows are not all some think they are. They are very awkward in a tree and you will only get one shot with a crossbow. When I was able to shoot a compound, I killed more than one deer with the second or third shot.

You know . . .whether you think the crossbow belongs or doesn't belong isn't really the issue. The issue is making the archery season more accessible and at the same time preserving the quality of the hunt.

Crossbows do not infringe on the quality time in the woods for traditional bowhunters.

The guys that make the rules are trying their best to eliminate the archery season by argueing that it's exclusive. We can kill that arguement by adding the crossbow into the season.

If there is an arguement that shows how the crossbow would ruin the traditional bow hunt, then I'd like to hear it.

So let me get this straight... You think that adding crossbows to archery season will somehow persuade Larry (%^&*$) Castle and other higher-ups to step away from their push for a 4 month choose your weapon?????????

Jared . . .I think they would have to change their battle plan.

Do you think having a crossbow in the same woods while you are bow hunting would ruin your hunt? Would it put you at a disadvantage? If so, then how?

Firearms are already at the door . . .it would be better to have more people holding that door closed, even if it's just a few.

doubt it.. Your leader already said any bill that gets him closer to the early season he supports. Tell me how thats strict archery support.

Do you know why everything is in an uproar right now.. Cause people cant leave things alone. There are opportunities for everyone under the current season formats.. But thats not good enough for some. Always want a bigger piece of the pie. Season format changes, wepaon changes, etc..

Instead of everyone wanting things changed people just need to be content. These proposed changes, all the way around, are nothing more than selfishness. They are not biological. If they are, then the powers that be just completely skipped about 3-4 steps that should preceed adding more firearm days or weapons changes.
