What are your thoughts on .270 caliber rifles?

What is your definition of a cull, if there is such a thing?

Well hello, looks like slownsteady has become MATT K. My old name wouldn't work for some reason. Now the serious matters:
1. 270's are good for the ladies and squirrel hunting.
2. Culling is justifying shooting little deer.
3. NO!
4. Nobody that has seen a black panther has been sober.
5. I hope IB4L is not needed here.

Don't like 270's

The new bill works for me but I do understand the destress of others.

A cull is old and swaybacked, heavy horned with not improvement forseen.

Panthers are alive and well in MS

I don't hunt anywhere that has enough deer to even see a cull.

What I think about a cull is a deer that has made it to 2 1/2 years and has a rack of less than desirable size. all about age structure in my mind though.

Don't have anything against .270's just prefer a little more gun.

This forum is a lot cooler than the other one. My only suggestion is to add a shout box at the top for chatting. That is the best way IMO to keep the topics on topic and the chitter-chatter to a minimum on the threads.

killed many a deer with the 270 but have now moved to the 7mag for last 7or 8 years now and that is rifle of choice. All about bullet placement no matter what gun

I went to the 7mm-08 and love it! I got the youth model so I can shoot right or left handed in my coveralls. It will flat drop a deer.

270s are good for walking sticks and sneaking up and clubbing deer not shooting them, they are ok squirrel rounds but I prefer a sling shot over 270.
Every deer is a cull deer.
Season structure is great, bow hunters only need one day to hunt.
I have a pet black panther.
IB4L +1 works well
