Once again I’m trying to get ideas to make an out of state deer hunt.

Has anyone here hunted Arkansas public land? I’d prefer to be somewhere around the south eastern or eastern part of the state just because of drive time.

Would be camping in a tent/wife’s 4 runner so don’t need to be around motel. I’d probably be making this trip solo or maybe with the wife around thanksgiving holidays.

No. 25 on Randy's list is the Dale Bumpers White River NWR located where the White and Arkansas Rivers merge. Rifle and MZ draw hunts of 3 days, but have some big deer. Years ago I rubbed a heavy rack10 pointer's nose in the Jacks Bay Campground at 20" inside and 220 lbs. field dressed. Saw other impressive racks as well. Bad mosquitoes in warm weather. Thermocell a must. Have separate MZ, rifle, and bow hunts. Call early summer for application. Also have black bears there.
