I have been 7 out of the last 10 years, but I think I will skip it this year because the bad hatches are catching up with them. It will still be very good public hunting though and the prettiest woods you can imagine hunting a turkey in. Good Luck! I will be back in a few years

I won't be going this year. One thing about Missouri, they've got boatloads of public land. I think every county has a conservation area. So if you don't like where you are, you've got other areas. If it were me, I'd go up in the Northern 1/3 of the state. Plenty of turkeys, not nearly as many hunters.

This will be my third year to go . We usually go the last week of the season. Last year we were camped out for 4 days and seen one person. Be prepared we were caught in a real bad storm last year and it blew a lot of trees over the road out of there.

If you are going to the mtnf around Doniphan. I suggest you try the Irish Wilderness area.It gets hunted pretty good but use to be lots of Turkeys in there. Get there real early and hike way back in there close to the river. Lots of walking but use to be worth it. I use to get one way back in there every year. Now enough turkeys in my part of state that not worth taking those long road trips!!!
