I got BOTH emails sent out by the MDWFP. I am opposed to each, not just because I'm a bowhunter, but I truly believe this is NOT in the best interests of MOST Mississippi deer hunters, regardless of the weapon or the state you claim you are from. I had a topic moved off of the Whitetail discussion related to "would you vote for your congressmen based on this issue". It was placed in the classified section and scrolled on in to cyberspace "Never-Never" land. I emailed my state senator, Mr. Kirby, yesterday.... have NOT gotten a reply back, but I am sure he's a busy man.javascript:insertsmiley('[confused]%20','/forum/images/emoticons/msp_confused.gif')
I placed a post on their Whitetail discussion today about the Supertalk show last night(which was a joke and made me even hotter). This post was just flat out deleted earlier.

I do not know how the meeting went at the capitol this morning, but I firmly believe it's time for a "Grass Roots" movement-type thing.
Also, since Mr. Castle could not speak to a "Any weapon" season last night on the air, I firmly believe he will be speaking to it in the next two years unless he is removed from his position.
Hearing Mr. Dacus speak about deer depredation and how the changes will help the herd were just plain wrong. I think that he knows what he is saying is WRONG, but he's so far into this that he can't get out of it or say otherwise due to his or someone else's political agenda.

These things are JMHO, and I'm ready to get back on topic, but I am truly sick of the junk and I WILL NOT support it, even if it means going OOS to hunt and fish.

exactly Macko. I know of one that doesn't agree but they can't afford to voice their opinions!
I know of a couple more that don't agree as well. Employees are at the mercy of their employer and we can't loose sight of that in this debate. It's either go with the flow or get out in some cases. I am no more for the rule changes than anyone but if I worked at the MDWFP and was told to sit down, shut-up, we got your point but, etc... or loose your job. I don't think I would throw my job away over a hunting reg change.

I agree. I think the MDWFP is told what to do.. They can either agree or lose their job. Why the heck do we need biologists when it's just a political decision anyway. The big insurance companies are pushing all this.. They were talkin on Jon Boy and Billy the other morning about how the insurance companies are pushing for exactly the same thing in all the southern east coast states. It gets me so mad to even think about all this but truthfully what can we do??

Okay... I've calmed down..... I certainly don't want any heads to role over a dang deer......

I refuse to believe that they are acting in MY best interests.
O'h, they definitely ain't acting in any of our best interest. They are simply selling out to the highest bidder. The politicians are running this show & using their so called expert biologists to back their play. I have seen it with my on eyes in previous state jobs I had. I left my last job over just this kind of crap.

We have to take into consideration it is easy for us to say what we would do when our jobs aren't in jeopardy. I appreciate the fact that folks have to feed their families.
