Need some of you guys opinions
Seeing all these fish pics and stories got the best of me and got the wife talked into going to ship island Friday, was wanting to know the easiest way to catch a few fish from the beach there.. Don't mind walking aways if I need to, the kids need to learn you gotta work for fish sometimes anyways.. Just wanna put them on a couple fish while we're out there.. Tips or locations would be well appreciated.. Also need to know of a good place to get some dinner, going to half shell oyster one night, but was hoping I might could help a member out on here if they have a place.. Thanks

I would love to help you out Bro. But the truth is, with the exception of Camille Cut, I have never fished Ship from shore.
I am sure someone will give you a few places to try. If memory serves me correctly, there was another thread last week where they were discussing a couple of spots on the western tip.

Get to the boat early because it will be full this time of year. As for gear, try gold, silver spoons like Mr Champs or MirrOlures for surf fishing. A two piece spinning rod may be your best bet. Rods have to be stored in the back of the boat during transit. You will have to be away from the swimming area to fish. There is good fishing on both sides. Don't forget the sunscreen cause it will be hot. You can buy drinks and snacks at the canteen. At least this is what I remember from a while back.
