welcome to the bull bmatte, try wading around some of the old broken piers just west of the beau rivage casino right at daylight.. are you related to Travis Matte? Good music there!![biggrin]
I look forward to learning from all you guys! I'm definitely not looking for anyones secret holes. I'm more looking for general information on the safe areas to wade. Im a good enough fisherman to find bait and clean, moving water to catch some fat-trouts if i can be lead in the right direction!Welcome aboard!
There are a great group of fellas here, complete with:
- great stories
- awesome joking around
- wonderful advice
&
- incredible BS'ing!
Unfortunately, I primarily spend my time on the western side of MS and out in the marsh. But, I am sure someone from the east side will be dropping some advice later on today.
Thanks for the quick reply man! This was my plan of action from the get go. I'm a huge "lure-junkie" if I'm not throwing top water plugs I'm throwing suspending plugs. I wont have a ton of time to spend chasing the fish so the from an hour before sunup to around 8 o clock is the time frame ill be shooting for. I take it the evenings can be just as good as the mornings in these areas?Bradley,
Two things that I hate to type... (1) I haven't been fishing in weeks! so I have no first hand knowledge of a decent pattern right now and (2) people I have talked to say it has been pretty slow around biloxi for most fishing including specs.
That said... Ignore that and get out there! Considering the time of year, get out there as early as possible. The easiest way to point someone in the right direction that isn't familiar with wade fishing Biloxi this time of year is: Find any of the old busted up piers along highway 90 and wade around them. there will be subtle bottom changes (1 to 2 foot gullies) all along the HW90 beach. any of these old piers, you will be able to wade to the end of them (or beyond). look for baitfish. Live shrimp 2 ft under a cork is a favorite but I really like throwing a topwater plug from nautical twilight to just after sunrise. plastic under a cork works too.
good luck!
The evenings have never been as good in these areas (during summer)... for me anyway. Always seemed better on the high morning tides with cooler waterThanks for the quick reply man!
