Hey guys! I am need of a little help on selecting a place to bow hunt the first two weekends in October (the only reason I hunt away from my stomping grounds is cause it opens two weeks earlier). I am a member of two hunting clubs so you don't have to worry about me in there after these two weekends. I am seeking information on some nwrs around Yazoo City. Such as panther swamp, hillside, Mathews brake, and Morgan brake. I am looking for information on hunting pressure and deer densities? If you don't want to supply this information on here please pm it to me. Thanks

Most of the mentioned nwr's have quality deer. Hunting pressure is high. Good luck to you.

Bigbuckhunter...may I give you some advice..these tips may or may not apply to you..just depends on where you live..if you live in the six lower counties you are not eligible to apply for any draw hunts. 1. Bring and use a thermacell 2. Don't forget your thermacell.3. Bring extra fuel packs for thermacell. When parking, back your truck into a briar patch so when the locals who own the 100,000 acre refuge come by they have to crawl in the briars to see what county your from.. forget about the regulations, only shoot bucks that are 8.5 years old or older or have no visible teeth left on the jawbone and NEVER bring up the words panther, yazoo, mahannah, twin oaks or sky lake on this forum again....[wink]

They don't let you hunt Yellowstone. What kind of hunting you do there?

So....you went back to Yellowstone with them after the Corps of discovery expedition? They do say A holes live the longest so by that logic you must be a super A hole.

Clearly sarcasm isn't your strong suit, but that man is the farthest thing from a so called "A hole" on this forum I can promise you that. He's also a moderator, which would also add attention to detail to your list of shortcomings.

LOL not at all, BBH. I think public land is open to all of the public. I don't hunt it, but there is a good many folks on here that do and only public.
There are some on here that share public info, but not many...And most of them that do, do it in a pm with members they have gotten to know.

Your first post pretty much said...Hey I need info on your hunting land, since you can hunt two weeks before me, after that I will go back to my un-pressured land and you can have back what I have hunted....Really come on...
May be you could have came out with something like....
Hey guys new here would like to meet some other like minded guys, I can't hunt for the first two weeks, but would like to trade off some hunts. Thanks pm me....
My only point is get to know these guys and make some friends, it will go farther.
But what does a crusty ol A Hole form 1807 know .[wink]

Man, LH, you seem to have trouble following you on every post you make. This one from a newb. What have you done to pizz off all these folks? I know you are a nice guy but dang they just seem to flock to you. As for BHH, welcome to the forum and glad you have met the local jack a$$ patrol. We dont take kindly to guys that come on herebstarting trouble. Take Ole Limbs advice and start with a different approach. [biggrin]

I don't get into that...[biggrin]
Now that squirrel season opens on Oct 1st just about everywhere, looks like me and some friends will be making some bowhunter's mad on public land, or running deer to them. There are a lot of squirrel hunters on public land! Except Panther Swamp, which opens squirrel season on Oct 11, but at Panther with a bowhunter in every tree, kinda makes it hard to hunt squirrels there.
