Done! Thanks.
Do I understand this to read that this is about judges not allowing firearms in the courthouse?
That and city owned property and buildings
I'm probably in the minority, but I don't see the harm in not carrying my firearm into a courthouse.

I agree. Particularly with respect to chancery courthouses where angers flare and tempers are short. Every single day judges there make decisions about modifying child custody and/or limiting parental rights. A person having immediate access to a gun in such a volatile situation isn't a great idea.
In the court room, NO, a place to check your weapon while stopping by the courthouse to pick up a tag, pay taxes or attend court, YES. I believe putting anyone who is a law abiding citizen at risk is a tricky situation, I leave my weapon in the vehicle, run in to pick up tag, felon going to court that afternoon catches a glimpse of my weapon at convenience store 5 minutes earlier sees me get out without the weapon, this is how crimes of convenience happen. We see it happens all the time, look at Memphis, they stole all the weapons out of a swat vehicle at the police station. Just a thought, really a tough decision, I choose not to carry for this reason, I've had three guns stolen out of vehicle in my lifetime and it sucks, I luckily got 1 back, but the tracking down serial numbers, repairs to windows and insurance claims, it's not fun.
The average person can't CC/OC in a court room or court house,, while its having court. its the law. Its been that way..

This is about city owned buildings mainly,,, like the water DEPT for example or city hall, where gun signs have been posted just cause of HB314. Like a multi purpose building that the city owns.. Grenada has signs on a building that has the extension service and the forestry COMM offices in it. Not anywhere near the Court House.

HB314 only tried to clear up some grey area.. But the idiots ran with it and said MS would turn into the wild West[confused] when MS has always been a right to carry state..[wink]

Here is a link with a brief summary of what you can and can't go/do with a weapon.
You can go to the MSDPS and read the laws as they are written..

What I think got all this started was city employees and state employees (even SOME game wardens) handing out no gun signs to business owners along with city property.
Game wardens were handing out "no gun" signs? Were and when did this happen?
On another forum, he took PICs of the sign on the door, and posted PIC of it last winter.. And of all places a deer processing business let the GJs put the no gun sign in their door......

BTW I said some GWs handed out signs not all of them..

Also the sign has to be a certain type and have the correct symbols.. Not some hand written deal.. That's why they were handing them out..
I personally feel that anyone that wants to carry one should be allowed to. I will have one with me wherever I go. If there is some place I can't legally take it then I simply won't go. I'm puzzled at why a GW would post signs. After all, every person he deals with has one the majority of the time.

[smile][biggrin][laugh] I'm puzzled at a lot of stuff he did..[laugh]
