Pier fishing and wade gigging?

Brand new here, seems like an awesome place to share advice. My boat got totaled a while back by some idiot flying down the highway, so I'm anchored to shore for the moment. I need some fish in the freezer! Does anyone have any tips for what to use and where to use it for piers in the Pascagoula, Ocean Springs or Biloxi areas? I've heard Lake Mars Pier is good but have no clue what to use when pier fishing. Also, any good stretches for wade gigging flounder? I'm open to any suggestions. Look forward to talking with you guys!

Welcome aboard! Only piece of info I can share is for Pascagoula. You can pick up flounder pretty consistently by walking the seawall east of the beach park pier and slow jigging a DOA or vudu shrimp. Just rig one up, let out about 7 or 8' of line and walk slowly down the seawall just lightly bouncing it off the bottom. Good luck
Welcome to the Bull, Marsh Rat provided a good idea for Goula beach. Only thing to add (Marsh correct me if I'm wrong it's been awhile) but it's also better on a incoming or hide tide too. Haven't done pier fishing in a long time but for pier fishing and wading the Biloxi area may be your better choice. Some of those folks may be able to help you more. Good luck!

Exactly right!
Thanks for the replies! It doesn't matter to me where I have to drive to, I just need to put something in the freezer! I'm definitely open to looking more around the Biloxi area if there's anyone who could steer me in the right direction there.
Welcome to the bull....before wendsday i would have told ya to try the Palace drive on pier for some white trouts...they eluded us then though....still a good place to start, shrimp or cut bait on bottom from about the middle of the pier on out.....out on the far end black drum and reds can be caught with a piece of blue crab for bait....just about anywhere along this pier you can get a sheepshead or two right up next to the structure...i would tell you to work the bait with a jig or shad-rap but the bait has been so thick there lately that that's been a lost cause lately.

If you can find a spot at broadwater you can find a few big reds and a alot of big black drum fishing with crab and just about always get a flounder or two jigging a minnow along the seawall.

D'iberville marina pier has been better at night...drum and sheapshead out off the end in the deeper water.

All three places for some serious hardheads and gaff-topps[biggrin]hope this gets you started.
Thanks fellas, I have something to start with anyway. I'll bounce around and see what bites. If I can get even 1 or 2 fish in a pan out of the deal then I'll consider it a success.

If I was in the Biloxi area and needed filets i would take a rod, a reel, 1/4 oz jig heads, glow or new penny gulp shrimp, and wade along the west side of the beau rivage starting at the top of an outgoing tide. Flounder love to stack up just outside the cut in between the west wall of the marina and the old pilings on the right.
Cast and retrieve bouncing the lure on the bottom
