Thinking about getting one. Some models have a 1 5/8 inch objective and some have a 2 inch. Which is best?

I have the smaller one. Its all how big you want your sight picture to be and preference. I see more with the 1 5/8 than the 2 inch. Its a good sight, probably the best slider style avaliable imo.
I had the 2" with .19 pin and went to 1 5/8 with .10 pin. I like it a lot better

What does the extension help with. Something about giving your bow a lil more range. Or am I wrong.

It moves your pin/sight picture farther away. Gives me a better focus on what I am shooting at. Basically the same thing as a sight with a dovetail. Also, by moving your sight out on a HHA it allows you to use more of your adjustement.
Went with the 2" objective and .19 pin per the recommendation of the shop. Put it on a Bowtech RPM 360 and my kid was shooting 60 yards in 15 minutes after getting home with it. Cant believe how bright it gets when you turn the rheostat on it!

I may have to look into that.
The extension will cut the amount of yardage you can get back. All it is for is to fit your peep sight housing. Also your pin won't be as bright.
yal got me interested, I think I may move to a hha this year...ive had an axel armotech for years, but its to heavy, and its getting harder to make long shots with as I age
I may try it next season. Not changing mine right now. My tape goes to 80 yards already.
From what I understand, the further away your sight is, the tighter your groups will get. Imagine having a 20 yard extension on a site... you'd have no reason not to be dead-on at 20 yards

Not really, group size depends on correct form, relese, and follow through. the extension is more about sight picture.
