We usually make a trip to the La marsh once or twice a year for reds around GrandIsle. We decided to try Hopedale this year and it didn’t disappoint. I picked an area on the map and lit out about 10am with the tide just starting to fall. By 12:00 the water was getting pretty shallow in the area we were in and the fish turned on. I got in a ditch not much wider than the boat that was just a little deeper than everything else and the fish were stacked in there. Almost every fish was caught sight fishing, and all on the same color jig the next two days. I love chasing these fish in shallow water.
