Very sad to lose someone so young. We all lost a brother outdoorsman. I didn't know him but left a family that loved him behind. Prayers to the family in their time of mourning of the loss and celebration of his life. A point for us all to learn to never let it slide, even though we all want to be tough.

I just saw that on the news. Incredible that it could attack your system so fast.
Yeah there were apparently some previous health conditions but still incredible how life can be here and gone because of something so small
That's scary stuff. Prayers going up for that family. Nothing prepares you for the passing of someone so young.
This is incredibly sad. Enjoying the outdoors and then....this.

I know he was from Ocean Springs, but does anyone here know where they were during their family outing?
This is another reason I wear waders all the time.

I read a bunch of the comments on the wlox facebook page for the story. And several people said they were at horn island and in fort bayou that day. Wether thats true or not i dunno but all i have seen as far as where.
Dang that is a terrible tragedy. Someone needs to do an in depth analyst of our coastal waters.
Very sad news indeed, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends
Bleach Water Cleansing and keep antibiotics on board.
This is so terrible. The family will be in our prayers. This seems to be happening more.
so sad for that family.

and I agree Jharv, this seems to be happening more. Maybe it's just better, real-time communication and technology these days where word spreads so far and fast.... I don't remember hearing about this stuff 20-30 years ago. And back bay was my swimming pool growing up. we were constantly getting cuts, scrapes, stepping on rusty nails, etc... (along with nearly every other kid that grew up on the bay)
I wonder if the bacteria that they used to contain the oil spill may be somewhat to blame for this?
Really scary and I know I am one of the worst about not wanting to go to the doctor until it is really bad, and with this that is a big mistake.

Tman that should tell us that something has changed.

The one guy on the news tonight lost his arm to it and he was only pulling live shrimp out of a bait bucket when he contacted it. Something is going on with our water.

Watched the first part of this on WLOX tonight and the Dr is suppose to give his part on it tomorrow evening.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I knew his dad and uncle.
Man this is terrible...thoughts and prayers for the family. Life is fragile...live it well and never hesitate to tell the people you care about the most that you love em.
