Thief

I tried to go fishing this morning but a thief had stolen the gas tank and hose out of my boat, which I keep in my carport. It is an orange plastic 6 gallon tank, less than six months old, with a small round gauge and orange arrow, if anyone happens to see one. I had a Yeti stolen as well, which I reported, but the police won't do anything. Be sure to secure yours, since these things seem to happen in waves.

Where abouts? Nothing worse than a thief. Work hard for what's yours and some scum bag feels they have a right to it. I don't doubt my neighborhood will get hit soon.

I had a buddy get a bunch of stuff stolen out of his truck. He reported it and eventually they caught two guys who had to pay reciprocity to him. So definitely report it in case you get lucky. I think anyone pawning hot items like Yetis should be questioned hard.
Very likely someone who lives right by you. We had a 4 wheeler stolen several years ago. Got it back soon after from a close family friends kid who had stolen it. Last year some folks down the road kept having gas cans stolen. The people that live across the road from them were always riding their 4 wheeler at all hours. Never bothered anyone or so we thought until the other guy laid a little trap. After 2 or 3 gas cans went missing he filled one with sugar and set it in the yard. Sure enough it went missing.....funny thing is all of the sudden his neighbors 4 wheeler was broke down with sugar in their tank.
I hate a thief. You may want to invest in a driveway alarm. They are wireless and cheap. Just set it up in the path of an intruder or the area you need protected and the inside unit will ring when it detects movement. Then the next move is up to you. I have a friendly note posted.

Love this story. I'm sorry it happened but an engine overhaul is cheaper than a hospital visit.
A thief is the lowest form of life.

Just above a liar, but not by much..
I am not even going to get started on how a thief strains my Christianity.[angry]

Wild bill when you get the chance will you send me some info on the driveway alarm?
Will do and I was just thinking how it would be great for your parking situation.

Would love to have both driveway areas protected.
I have a like new 6 gallon (no gauge) tank my buddy gave me if you want it your welcome to it, I am in waveland
I have so many possums ***** and cats in my neighborhood that I am not sure if a driveway alarm would help. I am in Ocean Springs. Boat stays in carport where the lights stay on all the time. I figure they slipped around to the side and hid behind the boat in order to get it. I may string a wire there and hope they take a fall. Believe me, I have thought about the sugar, but I'm afraid I would forget and try to use it. Guess I will have to chain it to the boat. I did report it though. We will see.

That is a such a nice offer, and I thank you. Once again, it just shows what a great bunch of people belong to this forum. The bull has enriched my fishing experience immeasurably. I already ordered one from a local business or I would take you up on it, but thank you again.
The alarm will work you can direct it in a way that doesn't see the the ground. Something you would have to play with for sure.
Awesome gesture BigL.
Yea no problem, I know how it is to want to go fishing and not have something you need, or cant spend the extra few dollars right then!
Flounda,
Where abouts in O.S. Do you live? I'm in the North Gulf Park Estates area. And there has been a rash of auto burglaries around me. And I'll keep my eye out. What size yeti? Any distinguishing marks?
Wild Bill,

Could you forward that info my way as well? I am definitely interested in this driveway alarm.

The yeti was a tan 45 gallon. The thief left a grease fingerprint when he stole it but instead of taking a picture, the police tried to use black powder and ruined the print. A neighbor's friend had been working on a four wheeler next door the night it disappeared but they never followed up. I live near the old high school, just off of Holcomb. appreciate you keeping a lookout.
