Thumb releases, who hunts with one??

Anyone hunt with thumb style release?? I have a carter chocolate addiction 4 finger. It shoots great, very crisp but I'm having a hard time adjusting to the anchor. And I'm scared i will be drawing on a deer and sling a full metal jacket out thru the woods 25 ft high lol.

i hunt with a carter insatiable 2+ if you wear gloves make sure to practice with them on especially if you have a light tension spring in it
I swap back / fourth between caliper and thumb releases .
They both have pros and cons
But my Scott Lil goose gets the call on most hunts ,
.
I been playing with some the last two months and as of today I believe I will actually try hunting with my 4 finger carter evolution tension release. Either that or if I go with the thumb it will be the carter target 4. I really am shooting the evolution incredibly well.
I shoot a stan. Can't remember the model. I started shooting it last summer for 3d. I thought it was a little to touchy for hunting so I found a tru ball diamond pro for hunting. I have it on the lightest setting and I still feel more comfortable with leaving it attached to my string will in the stand. The stan I still 3d shoot with but hunt with the tru ball. I don't have to change anything sight or anchor wise between shooting the two.
Thumb or back tension tip of the week,
If you do hunt with one ,, but two, cause you going to drop it from tree !! :)
I've been hunting with one for about the last five years. It took a little getting used to, but I like it. I like being able to clip it to my loop ahead of time, hang my bow up, and be hands free.

That was my biggest fear. Hooking it on my string and then if falls to the ground. That's why I went to a little less touchy trigger type release.
I used to and then I traded it for some climbing sticks because I needed those more. I have a Carter Target 3 that is supposed to be delivered today.
Carter Chocolate Lite 4 finger for me, absolutely love it for both hunting and 3d. Wish I had switched over sooner.
I have a Stan Shootoff 3 finger that I bought a few months back. I really don't know if I'm going to hunt with it or use my Little Goose. Been having a bad problem with it and me shooting consistently left. The thought of selling it has crossed my mind.
mine is sx2 four finger, I had to look it up
I have a truball that I've been using for three years. I like it, but more for the ease of hunting with it. Took some getting used to but I don't shoot any better or worse because of it.
Yea. I love the way it shoots I'm just worried that in the heat of the momen in a hunting situation, there is more chance of error with it
I shoot 3d and hunt with a 4 finger Stan SX-2 and a Stan JustX. Hook them on the string and hands free, never had one fall .

Na..after you send a few flying off through the yard you'll cure yourself of that. [wink]
I started using one last year. think it is a truball. My shooting improved.

I have a scott longhorn backtension release that is basically brand new if anyone is in the market for one. I cant make myself hunt with it.
