When to hang stands?

I pull all my stands after season for two reasons. 1) To keep straps from rotting and 2) So I will move to better/different locations. If I didn't pull them I might not move them. Question: What time of year do you hang your stands? I usually start Labor Day. Is that too late?

Depends on what the deer are doing and why they are doing it. There are trails that will produce every year and others where things have changed or you just got lucky. Figuring out why they should be in a location is more important that how mony days your stand sits unoccupied before October 1. I don't care to go tornadoing out a spot the day before I hunt it but have killed a few truckloads out of stands placed the day before the hunt.
I personally have moved stands as early as sept 1st and moved them mid season and can't tll a difference I've got deer out of the ones I've moved mid season the fact is deer are always aware of changes in their environment and changing that environment can always be risky to a degree but I've seen more times than not that it dosnt matter when you move stuff around another will come along. Move em when you want to.
